About header

Hello! Here we are.

A publication about men, written on one rule: evidence over assumption.

Most of what gets written about men falls into one of three categories. Advice built on confident assumption. Content built to sell a product. Or content that treats men as a problem to be fixed.

All About Him exists to do something different. We cover men’s health, relationships, grooming, and the parts of male life that rarely get written about honestly, and every article is built on published research rather than on opinion. When the evidence is strong, we say so. When it is weak, contested, or missing, we say that too.

That second part is rarer than it should be, and it is the whole point.

Why We Exist

A great deal of what people believe about men turns out, on inspection, to be untested. The idea that men are wired to fix problems rather than listen. That testosterone decline means you need treatment. That men are simply worse at friendship. These claims are repeated so often that they feel like established fact.

Many of them have been studied directly. Some hold up. A surprising number do not.

We think readers deserve to know which is which, and to see the evidence for themselves rather than taking anyone’s word for it, including ours.

This site is also written for women. A large share of what gets misunderstood about men is misunderstood by the people closest to them, often because the popular explanations for male behaviour are wrong. Our Understanding Men section exists specifically for readers trying to make sense of a partner, a father, a son or a friend.

The Writer

All About Him is written and edited by Anup Shrestha, a brand strategist, designer and founder of Sellora & Hoffnux. My work is making complicated material clear and accurate without oversimplifying it.

I am not a doctor, psychologist or therapist, and won’t present myself as one. What I bring is a commitment to reading the primary research, reporting it honestly, and being clear about its limits.

I started this site because so much of the advice about men rests on assumptions nobody has checked. This is a place where those claims get tested against the evidence, even when the answer is less satisfying than the myth.

Health articles are reviewed by a qualified clinician, named on each article with their credentials and review date.

How are we funded?

All About Him is independent and has no investors, sponsors or parent publication.

At present, we do not earn money from any product we mention. If that changes, for example through affiliate links, every affected article will say so clearly at the top of the page, before any link appears. Earning a commission will never determine what we recommend or how we rank it.

How We Write

Every article on this site follows the same standards. The full version is on our Editorial Standards page. In short:

Primary
Source

Claims are linked to the original study, not to another article describing it. Every piece ends with a full reference list.

We report the limits.

Most articles include a section on what the evidence cannot tell you. We think that is where trust is earned.

We correct mistakes openly.

If we get something wrong, we fix it and note the correction at the foot of the article, with the date. Every article shows when it was published and when it was last updated.

How studies were done

Sample size, who was studied, how long for, and what was actually measured. A finding from 11,000 couples and a finding from 30 students are not the same thing, and we will not present them as if they were.

We make our own charts.

Wherever possible, we build original visualisations directly from published data, and credit the source underneath.

We do not give medical advice

We explain research. Decisions about your health belong with a qualified professional who knows your situation.

Have Suggestions?

Spotted an error? Corrections matter to us more than anything else on this page. Please let us know with a link to the source if you have one.

Questions, suggestions for topics we should investigate, and disagreements with our reading of the evidence are all welcome. Some of the best articles start as a reader asking whether something is really true.
